Aber warum ist das ein Nachteil? Plastik hat nicht viele Fans, aber es ist deshalb kein schlechter Werkstoff. Für diese Anwendung ist es sogar ein sehr guter Werkstoff, denn Glas und Keramik sind zu spröde und Metall durch seine gute Wärmeleitung, Intransparenz und Gewicht ebenso ungeeignet. Bis auf die ganz alten Modelle ist das Material ein BPA-freier Kunststoff.
