Gegenüber den Vorgänger-Mahlwerken, bei denen der Mahlkonus (auch bei den von oben einstellbaren Werken) durch eine Konstruktion unter dem Konus gegen den Mahlkranz ''gedrückt'' wurde, wird bei diesen Mühlen der Mahlkonus gegen den Mahlkranz ''gezogen'': Die Verstellschraube drückt beim Hochdrehen (Drehen entgegengesetzt des Uhrzeigersinns) über den auf dem Bild sichtbaren Abstandhalter aus Plastik gegen die Kurbel und zieht damit die Kurbelwelle mit dem Mahlkonus gegen den Mahlkranz (das Kaffeemehl wird immer feiner, je weiter nach oben geschraubt wird).</ins></div></td></tr>
